The story of our Arab Nation, is the story of the Cham people …
This story is told by the story of our family … Kweider.
Our story is part of the history of Cham’s cuisine and sweets.
Luxury is part of our commercial history, taking into account the mutual influence between the Cham’s cuisine and the history of the city.
Our story began in Damascus, the oldest inhabited capital in history. Where family roots flourished with the history of the city.
Our great-grandfather, Deeb Bin Muhammad Kweider 1277-1371 AH / 1860-1951 CE, established the family business in the production of sweets by choosing the Midan neighborhood, the family’s birthplace and one of the most famous areas of Damascus.
History: (Book: The Encyclopedia of Damascus Families) states that Hajj Deeb was a respectable and honorable person, as the people of Medan trusted him, and he also helped the people in arranging the affairs of the neighborhood.
At that time there was a remarkable influence of Turkish cuisine on Arabic sweets and food production.
There was also an intrusion of French recipes, especially chocolate …
But Cham’s deep roots and the open minds of the people welcomed various influences without losing the authenticity of Cham’s cuisine.
The story goes on … In the forties, grandfather “Abdo Deeb Kweider” entered the field of Arab sweets, worked hard to develop it, and while changes were slowly entering Syria, the confectionery production industry witnessed changes as well.
At the beginning of the sixties of the last century, the influence of Yassin Kweider, the father, despite his young age, he devoted his time and efforts to achieve a remarkable development in commercial and industrial business.
His efforts flourished, and “Kweider Sweets” witnessed a remarkable development in the seventeenth century. “Kweider Sweets” became an industrial and commercial enterprise, and in 1969 it obtained a commercial registration for it.
The eighties witnessed the consolidation of the name of the company and the expansion of its branches.
The name “Kweider Sweets” began to spread from Al-Midan neighborhood to cover the wide ranges that Father Yassin Kweider was planning.
He continued his program of development and progress until he was able to establish a large factory in Damascus to meet the increasing purchase orders that were the result of the good reputation.
Guarding the inherited name of the company and working to expand the company’s branches in all areas of Damascus and its suburbs were among the main guidelines that the father passed on to his four sons who gradually entered the field of work.
With the start of the development of the Four Brothers, under the vigorous direction of Father Yassin Kweider, many exhibitions took place in more than 12 countries in the world.
The eldest son of Mr. Yassin Kweider created the i-Sweet Group, which was distinguished by its many luxurious products.
